| Itinerary |
DAY 1: Sunday - Depart New York on Egypt Air and
fly to Cairo Egypt today.
DAY 2: Monday - Upon arrival at Cairo International
Airport, you will be met and assisted through customs
and formalities, then transferred to your hotel. Balance
of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.
DAY 3: Tuesday - You will be transferred to Cairo
Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival at
Aswan Airport, you will be transferred to your Deluxe
Nile Cruise Boat for a 5-day/4-night Nile cruise.
Accommodations aboard will consist of an Outside Junior
Suite Cabin with private facilities. Afternoon sail by
felucca for an outside visit to the Agha Khan Mausoleum
and Elephantine Island. Overnight on board. (B/L/D).
Today we have an optional excursion
to Abu Simbel. (Your flight from Cairo continues on to Abu
Simbel. At Aba Simbel you will visit the great Temples of Ramses II. Stand
before the colossal statue of the Pharaoh with smaller
statues of his wife Nefertari and daughters at his feet.
After this visit, you will return to Aswan, and your
cruise ship.) (B/L/D)
DAY 4: Wednesday - Visit the High Dam, Old Dam, Philae
Temple, and the Granite Quarries. Sail to Edfu.
Overnight on board. (B/L/D)
DAY 5: Thursday - Travel by horse-drawn carriage to
the Temple of Horus, the best preserved of all the large
Egyptian Temples. Sail to Luxor. Overnight on board.

DAY 6: Friday - Cross the Nile to the West Bank.
Visit the Necropolis of Thebes, Colossi of Memnon, Queen
Hatshepsut Funerary Temple, and the Valley of the Kings
and Queens. Overnight on board. (B/L/D)
DAY 7: Saturday - Visit Luxor Temple dedicated to the
god Amon-Ra. It was expanded by Ramses II, who added
statues of himself. Visit the magnificent Karnak Temple.
After disembarkation, you will be transferred to Luxor
Airport for your flight to Amman, Jorden (via Cairo). Upon
arrival in Amman, you will be met by our representative
and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Amman.
DAY 8: Sunday - After breakfast,
we will take a short trip,
along the 5,000 year old Kings Highway, to Madaba, Jorden, known
as the “City of Mosaics". Best known for its spectacular
Byzantine mosaics, Madaba is home to the famous 6th century Mosaic Map
of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. With two million pieces of vividly
colored local stone, it depicts hills and valleys, villages and towns as
far as the Nile Delta. The Madaba Mosaic Map covers the floor of the
Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, which is located northwest of the
city center. The church was built in 1896 AD, over the remains of a much
earlier 6th century Byzantine church. We the proceed to Mount Nebo where
The Bible, Deuteronomy 34:1-7, tells the story of Moses’s journey to
Mount Nebo. It says: “Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount
Nebo, to the top of Mount Pisgah east of Jericho and there the Lord
showed him the whole land: the territory of Gilead as far north as the
town of Dan. Then it off to the Dead Sea spa for 2 hours swim and relax,
we will then proceed to Kerak, Jordan.
An ancient Crusader stronghold, Karak sits 900 meters above sea level and lies inside the walls of
the old city. Karak lies to the south of Amman, Jordan
on the King's Highway. Karak commands a magnificent view of the
Dead Sea The city today is home to around 170,000 people and continues to boast a
number of restored 19th century Ottoman buildings, restaurants, places
to stay, and the like. But it is undoubtedly
Karak
Castle
which dominates.
Proceed to Petra for an overnight. (B)
DAY 9: Monday - Full day touring Petra, the Rose
Red City of the 1st Century Nabateans. An 1/2 mile (800
meter) horse ride and 4 hour English speaking tour
through the 1 mile Siq (an immense crack in the
sandstone mountains), you arrive at Petra's most
impressive site...the Treasury. Carved out of solid rock
on the side of the mountain. Surrounded on both sides by
hundreds of Petra's carved structures, soaring temples,
elaborate royal tombs, roman theatre and burial
chambers. For those young at heart, a climb will take
them to the Monastery above the mountains, with a
wonderful view over Wadi Araba. Late afternoon, return
to Amman. Overnight. (B)
DAY 10: Tuesday - Transfer to Jerash,
located 48 km north of Amman
and nestled in a quiet valley among the mountains of Gilead, is the
grandeur of Imperial Rome being one of the largest
and most well preserved sites of Roman architecture in the World
outside Italy. To this day, its paved and colonnaded streets, soaring
hilltop temples, handsome theaters, spacious public squares and plazas,
baths, fountains and city walls pierced by towers and gates remain in
exceptional condition. Often called
"Pompei of the East", you will walk its
colonnaded streets, view its temples, churches,
Nymphaeum, and theatre. After proceeding through a
beautiful pine-forest and olive groves, you
will arrive at the town of Ajloun, where Hadrian
stayed over the winter of 129-30 AD, and built himself an arch well
outside the town, leaving un-bonded its sides for future city walls to
come out to meet it. You will then have a late
afternoon transfer to the airport for your departure
flight. Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be transferred
to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo. (B)
DAY 11: Wednesday - Visit the Egyptian Museum of
Antiquities, which houses the world's largest collection
of artifacts from the era of the pharaohs including some
belonging to King Tut. Tour Old Cairo, where early
Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit
sites like the Ben Ezra Synagogue, and the Moallaka
Church where the Virgin Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus
took refuge. Spend the afternoon at the Great Pyramids
of Giza built for Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, and
the defending Sphinx. End the day at the bazaar of Khan
El Khalili. Optional Sound and Light Show available
this evening ($40.00 per person). Overnight in Cairo.

Price is as quoted above per person double occupancy.
$25.00 per person charge for an Egyptian Visa.
If there are enough participants, we will arrange for bus
transportation round trip from Beacon to JFK. Deposit of $100.00 per person to sign up.
All prices subject to change. Insurance is available
and highly recommended for all passengers at an additional cost.
Prices quoted do include fuel surcharges, but do not include airport fees or airline
taxes. Also
all pricing now includes air fuel surcharges per U.S. D.O.T Regulations.
Air taxes are additional. In the past fuel surcharges were paid with final
payment and were collected along with the taxes, now the fuel surcharge is
collected as part of the package price. Bottom line is the same. You
are not paying more now, you did not pay less before!
Spending Money Cruise
boat expenses for beverages will be settled in cash. Beverages with all
included meals will be settled in cash. Soda is about $1.00, Beer about
$3.00.
You will need cash in the Street Markets. While at the hotel in Cairo you can
charge expenses to your room and pay with a credit card. During shopping opportunities, VISA is the preferred Card.
Do not plan on using American Express.
